From our port in Dover you can drive to Cambridge within 2 hours and 30 minutes. The fastest route is to take the M20 in Folkestone towards London via the A20. From here follow the M20, M25 and M11 into Cambridgeshire and then take junction 11 from the M11. You continue on the A1309 and drive into the heart of Cambridge.

Explore the University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209 and is one of the oldest universities in the world. The university consists of 31 colleges spread across the city, so you can find beautiful historic buildings everywhere! Famous are King's College & Chapel, with its iconic Gothic chapel, and the university's largest college, Trinity College. Trinity College has 33 Nobel Prize winners as alumni, but Prince Charles, Isaac Newton and Lord Byron also graduated here.

Things to do in Cambridge

In addition to Cambridge University, there are more sights that are definitely worth visiting. Admire more than half a million beautiful works of art at the Fitzwilliam Museum of Art and Antiquities. Entrance to the museum is free. For nature lovers, the Museum of Zoology is a great outing. Here you can view thousands of specimens from the entire animal kingdom; from elephants, giant sloths and giraffes, to birds, reptiles, insects and molluscs. You can also visit this museum for free. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, visit Madingley Hall. Here you can wander through extensive gardens and enjoy a typical English afternoon tea.
