Discover Things To Do In Canterbury

An internationally-famed pilgrimage site, Canterbury Cathedral is perhaps the city’s most famous landmark. The gothic edifice is striking amongst the gentled, timbered frames of the surrounding streets.

However, Canterbury’s culture runs deeper than just the cathedral. Wander the cobbled lanes of this serene city an absorb the history the lives in every corner, visit the Roman Museum or get lost in the surrounding countryside.

Culture

The pilgrims’ journeys to Canterbury Cathedral have been immortalised in Geoffrey Chaucer’s 14th century prose collection, The Canterbury Tales. These tales come to life at The Canterbury Tales exhibition, based in the city centre.

October sees the annual Canterbury Festival which provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of music, comedy, film and art events.

If you have an interest in the arts, then take a look at what’s on at the city’s beautiful Marlowe Theatre.
