A Guide to Visiting London

London is simultaneously a multicultural metropolis and a hub of British heritage.

The historic city centre is home to iconic landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Travel between attractions on the red tourist buses.

Once you’ve explored Central London, head into some of the other beautiful boroughs. Notting Hill is where you’ll find the internationally-renowned Portobello Road Market or visit the extraordinary architecture of Kensington and Chelsea.

East London offers arty, gentrified districts including Shoreditch and Hackney.

Shopping and Culture

Camden Town and Notting Hill markets are two of London’s top independent shopping destinations, as well as Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden and Brick Lane Market in Shoreditch. Oxford Street and Westfield London are ideal for high-street shoppers, the latter offering over 265 shops.

The Elizabethan Globe Theatre where Shakespeare staged many of his plays resides on the banks of the Thames and still stages plays to this day. The Royal Opera House at Covent Garden is also a must for culture buffs. This is the UK’s main opera house and is where the British Academy Film Awards are presented.
