House of the Blackheads Riga

Riga - capital of Latvia

The last stop of your big Baltic tour will take you to Riga. Experience the flair of a big city and historical charm in equal measure. For example, the brick churches and old wooden buildings testify to the long history as a trading center and the impressive art nouveau houses from the urban expansion in the north between the 19th and 20th centuries. The cityscape of the metropolis is now changing with new glass and steel palaces. Chic new bars and restaurants make Riga a vibrant destination. You stay at the Rixwell Elefant Hotel. Highly recommended are excursions in the surrounding area, e.g. Gauja National Park or Rundale Castle, built in Baroque and Rococo style and used as the summer residence of Tsarina Anna Ioannovna.
