The adventurous North Zealand

North Zealand offers some of Denmark's best hidden gems. On the trip, you will experience how the fast pace of the big city quiets down, and the beautiful nature takes over. Stay overnight in Gilleleje and enjoy the wonderful sandy beach. This is a perfect place for swimming, picnics and walks.

In addition to the beautiful nature, there are also a number of cultural offers that may be worth taking in.

Here we recommend taking a look at some of the wonderful castles in this area, including Kronborg Castle. This castle is also known as Hamlet's Castle and is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the most important Renaissance castles. On your way to your next destination, Roskilde, you can drive by Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød and visit the fairytale castle garden. Here you can also learn more about Denmark's history.

Visit the world of the Vikings

Drive by Denmark's Viking town, Frederikssund, on your way to Roskilde!

In this beautiful harbor town, you can get a guided tour of the Vikings' abode. Here you can see, taste and learn about the life of a true Viking. Every summer it is also possible to experience the Viking game, which recreates the Vikings' stories and famous figures. This is a popular attraction that attracts a large crowd of all ages.

From Frederikssund, it is only a short drive to Roskilde - there are many exciting experiences waiting for you!

Roskilde Domkirke - Denmark

Entertainment for everyone in Roskilde

You can stay two nights in Roskilde - the city is full of experiences for young and old!

Here you can immerse yourself in the Viking Age and visit the Viking Ship Museum. You can also visit the popular museum RAGNAROK, which takes you into Danish pop, rock and youth culture.

When you walk along the street, you will surely spot the beautiful Roskilde Cathedral. The church is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and is definitely worth a short visit.

If you like splashing, frolicking and laughing in the water, we can recommend spending a day in Sommerland Zealand. Book an overnight stay in Sommerland to get the most out of this fun experience.

Karrebæksminde - Denmark

Slow down in Sorø and Karrebæksminde

After a couple of days at full speed on the experience front, it's time to set course for charming Sorø. Stay overnight and take advantage of the opportunity to slow down and relax. Take a leisurely walk in Akademihaven's scenic surroundings followed by a visit to Bjernede round church.

From here we recommend driving on towards Karrebæksminde to spend a day, and perhaps a night here. Here you can eat delicious baked goods from Enø Bakery and enjoy the fantastic view from the Marina. Feel the city's relaxed holiday pace and take a short stop at Kludeskogeren. If you want to relax properly in the sun, Karrebæksminde beach can be a perfect bathing spot.

Stevns Klint - Denmark

From speed and excitement to nature and flowers

From Karrebæksminde you drive on to Borre, for the trip's penultimate overnight stay. In this small town in South Zealand, you will find a number of fun attractions. Arrive early and go on a journey of discovery at Gavnø Castle and Blomsterpark, or combine a visit to Denmark's GeoCenter and the wonderful nature at the Møns Klint cliff face. You can also visit the BonBon-Land theme park for some extra speed and fun.

On the way forward, you have a number of great opportunities. Visit the 45-metre high Skovtårn, or go fossil hunting in the fantastic landscape of Faxe Kalkbrud. You can also go for a walk along the UNESCO-listed cliff wall Stevns Klint.

A magical ending in Copenhagen

The last stop on the Zealand tour is the charming capital Copenhagen.

Spend a night in one of our selected central hotels, go shopping in Strøget, and end the adventure with a trip to Tivoli's enchanting garden.

At the end of the day, you can park the car on the boat, relax in the cabin and look back on a holiday full of good memories.
