Kvitjell - Norway's outdoor paradise
The Kvitfjell area is 30 minutes north of Lillehammer and is mainly famous for its ski area with slopes. But even in summer there is everything the outdoor heart desires. With the mountains and Gudbrandsdalen valley nearby, you can enjoy an active summer vacation for the whole family, whether you enjoy hiking, climbing or fishing.
By car you are also not far from Hafjell and Lillehammer with many activities. In Hafjell you will find the Hunderfossen Adventure Park, Hafjell Bike Park, Lekeland and Lilleputthammer. The city of Lillehammer with its charming pedestrian zone, museums such as Maihaugen and the bathing area in Jorekstad is only 15 minutes away.
Put on your hiking boots and let's go! The region around Kvitfjell offers many hiking routes along Norway's beautiful, unspoilt nature. Hike from Skeikampen, Kvitfjell or Espedalen. You can also follow the Peer Gynt Trail, one of the most popular hiking trails in the region. You can follow in the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims along the Gudbrandsdalsleden. In the Middle Ages it was the main route to Nidaros (Trondheim). The entire hiking trail is 643 km long, but you can only complete part of it with peace of mind and still call yourself a pilgrim. Not far from the city of Lillehammer, you can discover the national parks Langua, Rondane and Jotunheimen.
