In early November, we hosted net zero co lab 007 in Hamburg. Over two days, we brought together 28 participants from 10 companies, all with a shared focus on how we can move closer to net zero.
Net zero co lab is a DFDS initiative where customers and partners meet to exchange experiences, share challenges and explore practical ways to make progress on decarbonisation. The aim is simple: create a space for honest conversation and real collaboration.
A focus on regulation and impact
The theme in Hamburg was navigating emission regulation and scaling impacts. This led to a series of open discussions about how regulation is shaping decisions, what companies are struggling with and where the biggest opportunities lie. It became clear that many of us are facing similar questions, even if we operate in different parts of the supply chain.
Key takeaways from Hamburg
Participants were very open about the challenges they face, which made the conversations both constructive and grounded in reality.
There was a strong shared understanding that progress depends on taking real, tangible action rather than waiting for perfect conditions.
Having so many committed customers in the room reinforced how important collaboration is. None of us can reach net zero on our own.
Looking ahead
The ideas and reflections from Hamburg will help shape the next steps in our work with customers and partners. Net zero co lab continues to grow, and each session brings us a bit closer to finding solutions that are both sustainable and commercially viable.
