The next Brexit updates are right around the corner
As of January 1st, 2022, new customs regulations will go into effect that impact logistics processes and transport between the EU and UK.
From the start of the new year, all cargo must be cleared by customs upon entry to the UK. Transporters will no longer be allowed to postpone declarations and therefore must have all relevant documents approved before leaving the EU.
Additionally, shipments of agricultural products and foodstuffs with health certificates will require IPAFFS registration in order to be granted entry to the UK.

DFDS as a Customs Broker

DFDS is an EU certified AEO customs operator
The certification approves DFDS to officially handle customs clearance services for all countries we offer customs services. It means that we have much easier customs processes. We can help you with everything from simple import and export declarations to acting as a Customs Broker, where companies give us power of attorney to do all their customs work for them.
What we need to do your Customs work
You must sign a representation agreement giving us power of attorney before we start working for you. Once this agreement is in place, you provide us with commercial invoices and packing lists and description of the cargo. We will be in close contact to ensure all the paperwork is in order and your goods can keep moving.
Note: if you want us to handle your customs, please take care that we have all relevant information available no less than 24 hours before we import or export your goods.
