Cycling in France
The French section of the Paris-London cycle route measures between 211 and 312 kilometres, depending on the route chosen. Once you arrive in Dieppe, you can cycle through the Seine-Maritime region, through the charming countryside, between Arques-la-Bataille and Forges-les-Eaux , then onwards to Paris. Why not take some time to stop and explore Dieppe before your onward journey? Famous for its beach and fishing port, not forgetting its castle-museum and its regional speciality Dieppoise, the perfect fuel for your onward cycle.
L'Avenue Verte or ‘the green route’ winds through fields, meadows, old railway paths and riverside routes. From Dieppe you can take the former Dieppe – Paris railway line for 25 miles, passing through rural scenery, quaint villages and rolling hills before arriving in Paris for a triumphant climax to your cycling holiday!
Whether you cycle part of the route or take on the challenge of the whole thing, enjoy L’Avenue Verte with DFDS and take the ferry between Newhaven and Dieppe.
Our Newhaven-Dieppe route is partnered with Accueil Vélo to offer cyclists the best welcome in France.
