Container load emissions
OneMed prioritises minimising its environmental impact when transporting products to its customers. As a result, the company focused on finding a transport provider that could offer a CO2-reduced solution for shipping its container loads from its supplier in Blackwood, UK, to its warehouse in Gardermoen, Norway.
Solution
Decarbonised transport – by sea and road
Our decarbonised solutions allowed us to meet OneMed's request for lowering the CO2e emissions along the route. The process begins with a conventional truck picking up the container from OneMed's supplier in Blackwood, UK. The container is driven to and loaded onto our ferry in Immingham and sailed to Frederikstad, Norway, which provides an indirect saving of CO2e. Upon arrival in Frederikstad, the container is picked up by electric trucks to deliver the goods to OneMed’s warehouse in Gardermoen.

Results
Reduced emissions
With our decarbonised solutions, OneMed expects to achieve up to a 75% reduction in absolute tank-to-wake (TtW) emissions. This reduction comes from both indirect CO2e savings on the ferry and the use of electric trucks upon arrival in Norway. These savings allow OneMed to obtain a unique, externally verified certification for reporting its Scope 3 emissions.
