of containers transported per year

Challenge

From port to warehouse

Martin & Servera is a growing business. Each year, hundreds of containers with food products and restaurant equipment arrive at the Port of Gothenburg from across the globe. The company required a logistics partner to deliver a complete, cost-efficient import solution – from port to warehouse. This included daily import declarations as well as picking and transporting pallets to warehouses in Enköping, Halmstad, Norrköping and Umeå.

Solution

Single point of contact

DFDS manages the entire import process, starting with customs clearance to ensure each shipment meets all regulatory requirements. Containers are then collected at the port and transported to the DFDS logistics centre in Borås. In Borås, DFDS teams unload the containers, inspect the contents, palletise and wrap the goods, and store them as needed. Some shipments remain in short-term storage, while others are dispatched immediately. For the hundreds of containers moving through the supply chain each year, a single point of contact at DFDS ensures clear communication and operational oversight.

“Since DFDS handles a large part of Martin & Servera's import volume, we really appreciate having a single point of contact who oversees the whole operation. It simplifies things.” - Elisabeth Eriksson, Senior Strategic Planner at Martin & Servera
