In November this year, DFDS opened its first dry- warehouse and logistics office near Poznan, Poland, close to the East-German border.

The new DFDS location will handle a range of services including warehousing and cross-docking. This new service is an addition to the existing Cold Chain freight solutions which DFDS has been offering in Poland since 2021 and will allow customers to fully benefit from DFDS’ contract logistics expertise and connect to its expansive European freight network.

Response to the increasing market demand

The new DFDS hub comes in response to a customer demand for transport and warehouse solutions in and out of Poland and will be able to handle a range of products from fast-moving consumer goods to freight needs for the forest, metal and automotive industry.

The new warehouse offers room for 16.000 pallets at full capacity and has a sustainable design having received the score ‘excellent’ on the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) sustainability certification. Besides warehousing, the new location can also offer co-packaging, labeling, customs, and inventory management.

“By opening a warehouse in Poland and expanding our logistics products in the country, we will serve our Scandinavian as well as Benelux and our UK and Irish market. The warehouse location is strategically chosen by the proximity to established DFDS routes in and out of Poland and is a perfect location for serving South, West, and North European markets,” says Michael Bech, Vice President for DFDS Continent Dry.

Bookings are available through the online booking portal, DFDS Direct, or can be requested from the country sales team.
